I have proofread short stories, theatrical programmes, and promotional materials for many years, and recently have been helping people to prepare novels for self-publication or submission to agents.
I am a native English speaker with excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation. I am extremely good at spotting potential factual and historical errors, as well as inconsistencies in your plot or characters, and I am known for my attention to detail and patience!

I’ve finished the corrections. You really have done an excellent job! I should say that despite the number of times you had to correct certain words, I do actually know the difference between its and it’s / where and were / your and you’re etc. If I was writing by hand I wouldn’t make such errors. It’s careless typing. I particularly like where you have pointed out a sentence that doesn’t make sense or is contradictory. This is usually where I’ve changed a sentence without looking carefully at what comes before.

You have given me the confidence to get this book published knowing that it is written correctly – except when I’ve made the decision not to! But that is an informed decision, not ignorance – you have saved me from that, and for that you have my eternal gratitude. Thank you for doing all that you are doing for me, I really appreciate it and I truthfully don’t think I could do it without you.
